ABOUT JOHN MUELLNER
Who Am I
My name is John Muellner, and I am deeply passionate about education. During my undergraduate studies at Northern Illinois University (Go Dawgs!), I pursued a degree in Elementary Education with an ESL endorsement for three years. In my final year, I recognized several challenges within the education system and shifted my focus to a hybrid degree combining education and business. Over the years, I have gained valuable experience working with various nonprofits, including the YMCA and YWCA, where I served as an educational administrator. Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration at National Louis University. Throughout my life, I have committed myself to serving my community, and I remain dedicated to continuing that mission.
Why I Am Running
Education is a powerful force for change, and a high-quality education is the cornerstone of a thriving nation. Unfortunately, the American education system is currently struggling due to a lack of clear focus. I am running for the board of trustees at CLC to help restore that focus by prioritizing what truly matters: providing students with a meaningful, effective education. As a trustee, I will advocate for decisions that benefit both students and taxpayers, ensuring a balanced approach to the needs of our community.
